MACSUR SciPolNet-2025-2026
MACSUR SciPolNet follows up on the previous two MACSUR exercises initiated by the Joint Programming Initiative for Agriculture, Food Security and Climate Change (FACCE-JPI).
The aim is to establish a science-policy network to support evidence-based policy for GHG mitigation strategies in the agricultural sector.
Objectives
- Guide and analyse science-policy communication, including cross-country collaborations, knowledge exchange and processes regarding climate change mitigation in agriculture
- Evaluate policies and measures targeting agricultural GHG emissions reductions at the farm level
- Guide the integration of existing models used to project GHG emissions from agriculture
- Identify structures for the long-term establishment of the MACSUR Science-Policy Network
Transdisciplinary approach
MACSUR SciPolNet builds on the transdisciplinary and multi-stakeholder approach of the previous two MASCSUR projects. It will create a coordinated network of scientists and policymakers, and deep engagement from stakeholders across farming, civil society, and business. The results from modelling assessments will be discussed in participatory multi-stakeholder dialogues to ensure that research findings become increasingly relevant and sensitive to policy priorities.
