The 2022 Joint FACCE-JPI SusCrop Call on Agrobiodiversity is now open!

 FACCE-JPI and SusCrop have joined forces to put in place a Call for research projects addressing agrobiodiversity.

A Call Announcement and supporting documents with further information of the Call can be found under "Call Documents" on this SusCrop submission page.

The deadline for pre-registration of proposals is May 4, 12:00h CEST.

The deadline for proposal submission is June 22, 12:00h CEST.

In order to access the submission tool, the coordinator must first register the project proposal.. After registration of the coordinator, the coordinator can invite/add partners through the coordinator account. Only online applications via this submission tool will be accepted.

Please note that only the coordinator can carry out and complete pre-registration and proposal submission of proposals on behalf of each applying research consortium.

For all partners of an applying consortium it is strongly recommended to contact their respective National Contact Persons for national/regional funding regulations. The contact details can be found in Annex A of the Call Announcement (see Call Documents).

For all questions related to the Call, please contact the SusCrop Call Office:

Note: There will be a webinar for applicants on 5th of April 2022, 10:00 CEST. The link for the webinar will be published soon on this submission homepage. Slides will be available in the download area after the webinar.

Scope of the Call:

Projects financed under this Call should contribute to sustainable crop production, particularly agro-diversification strategies tailored to different European agricultural systems, and especially targeting landscapes and cropping systems with low and/or moderate agro-biodiversity, higher negative impact on agrobiodiversity, or most at risk due to low resilience.

Projects should improve:

a) the understanding of the principles and mechanisms of functional and response agro-biodiversity at genetic and/or species level and its contribution to healthy soils, resilient agroecosystems, and to diverse and healthy human diets;

b) the understanding of the role that agrobiodiversity plays in ecological connectivity and in the biodiversity of landscapes, the understanding of the most efficacious methods for improving and enhancing agrobiodiversity/biodiversity, and the decision-making process around targeting and promoting agrobiodiversity/biodiversity;

c) the understanding of the social, economic, environmental opportunities and barriers to an increased agrobiodiversity at the farm level, as well as the risks and governance aspects;

d) agrobiodiversity-based farm practices and organisational patterns improving the resilience of agroecosystems;
